Local Revision: Tense Usage

This blog post is dedicated to analyzing what the different tenses of verbs used in my QRG are and then going on to think about how they add to the meaning of my QRG. This is an important exercise because it's going to make me think about how important each individual word is in this writing.

Reflection

  1. Most of my draft is written in present tense.
  2. The present tense in my draft, I think, allows the reader to realize that this is a controversy that is happening today. It's not something that happened in the past, so it's still something that we need to concern ourselves with.
  3. I feel like the tenses in my project work together because some of the project is stories, and some of the project is what is currently happening. I feel like this switch between tenses is really necessary in order to get the whole picture of what is going on.
  4. I have many present tense verbs in my project :)
